Why this problem is important
This issue is important because civic learning and engagement are the foundation of a healthy, functioning democracy.
When individuals are informed about community, government, and social issues, they can make educated decisions, advocate for their rights, and contribute to meaningful change.
Conversely, a lack of civic knowledge leads to disengagement, apathy, and a weakening of the social fabric.

Concept
A News Reading Club is a community-driven initiative where members come together weekly to share and discuss news articles they’ve read, offering diverse perspectives on current events. Each participant brings a news piece—ranging from global affairs and politics to technology and culture—and presents their insights, encouraging critical thinking and open dialogue. The club fosters media literacy by helping members analyze biases, fact-check sources, and engage with viewpoints different from their own. Through these discussions, participants gain a broader understanding of world events, cultivate empathy, and develop informed opinions, making news consumption a more interactive and reflective experience.
